Yio Chu Kang
Lentor Mansion is a residence within the Yio Chu Kang estate. This estate is know for its unique mix of light industrial buildings in the East and West, HDB flats in the middle, landed houses and recreational parks in the North, and diverse educational institutions near the Central. This region is indeed what Singaporeans term a live, work and play neighbourhood.
Lentor Gardens is at the Northern part of Yio Chu Kang and is mainly a landed housing estate before the erection of the Lentor MRT station. The land sites around the MRT station are currently zoned for private high rise housing, named the Lentor Hills estate. The sports complex near the Yio Chu Kang MRT station has facilities for many activities like tennis, swimming, soccer and even squash. There is a gym on the premises as well.
The estate has 2 main highways; the Central Expressway in the East and Seletar Expressway in the North.
Ang Mo Kio
Ang Mo Kio is a pioneer among the country’s Housing and Development Board (HDB) estates. It was completed in 1980 and is the seventh satellite town established in the city state. The concept of town councils began with Ang Mo Kio back in 1986, as a pilot project to improve the local services residents of HDB neighbourhoods can get. The idea later was integrated in the Town Council Act of 1988 and remains as the second-level of administration of Singapore today.
